When times are tough, they affect everyone — even superheroes. In this photo series, superheroes and Disney characters find themselves destitute and in unexpected jobs — pumping gas, washing windows, and walking the streets.
The point of Benjamin Bechet's I am Winnie the Pooh photo series isn't to comment on these characters; after all, Batman would have to develop a serious gambling habit before he'd end up working at a gas station. (Plus, he's Batman. He'd probably win most of the time.) The point is to put familiar faces on often invisible workers, especially immigrants who are struggling to make it in a new country. People may not notice the man sleeping on the bench, but they're sure to notice when Mickey Mouse does it.
