Chris Evans says the Captain America should be set in New York. And what was the real first appearance of the Silents in Doctor Who?AdvertisementSpoilers from here on out! Top image from Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The Dark Knight Rises This photo of Tom Hardy has surfaced, showing him sporting a shaved head and some extra muscle. Considering filming is just a few weeks away, there's a decent chance that this is close to how he'll look when playing Bane, at least in terms of the extra musculature. [IGN]Captain America Here's a bunch more set photos from last weekend's filming of Captain America's encounter with Nick Fury. [multipleverses.com]AdvertisementWhen asked about the setting of the sequel, Chris Evans suggests there's a very good chance it will be set in New York City:We're already seeing reports of a Captain America sequel taking place in the modern day, do you think that would be here in New York? *Sigh*... ah. Because it's a huge part of that character adjusting to how his home has changed. I know. I mean there's an Ikea in Red Hook now. Yeah, I know, right? That's just... Ebbets Field, all of that. Well, The Avengers takes place in New York, we're shooting in Albuquerque but it takes place in New York... with the Cap sequel I mean... I would assume yeah, I can't picture it without.. they just have to, right? But I really don't know.[Flixist]The AvengersFilming has started, and you can check out the link for Joss Whedon's letter all about it. There's no spoilers there, but it's worth a chuckle or two. [Whedonesque.com]PrometheusAn inside source claims to have seen the familiar Xenomorph aliens on set, suggesting Ridley Scott has already dispensed with the whole "not technically an Alien prequel" thing:AdvertisementSponsored"I can confirm seeing three aliens having lunch. Not the whole costume, but blueish costumes and the unmistakable heads hanging around their shoulders. The alien heads were the same shape [as the Xenomorph from Alien] but no markings, only a plane (sic) bronze color."Of course, as with most inside sources, take this with a grain of salt until we hear or see something more official. [Digital Spy]Amazing Spider-ManMTV caught up with Denis Leary, who plays George Stacy, and asked him about the scene that was filmed a while back in which George's daughter Gwen Stacy attends a funeral. Leary responded that he can't give any spoilers for the ending of the movie — which may imply the funeral happens at the end of the film. (Or it could just mean that Leary misunderstood what they were asking.) It's still not definite that it's George Stacy's funeral, in any case. [MTV]Transformers: Dark of the Moon Here are some new images of Sentinel Prime and Shockwave. [TFLAMB]Men in Black 3Here's a new casting call for extras. It's much the same as what we've seen before, but I think the call for bikers is new:SEEKING: 1.) MALES & FEMALES (18+; any ethnicity) – 1969 NEW YORKERS (hippies, beatnik poets, 60s celebrity look-a-likes, bikers, models, etc.); 2.) MALES & FEMALES (18+; any ethnicity) – DWARVES & GIANTS. People who are less than 4'10" or more than 6'5"; 3.) MALES (20-35; Caucasian) - BIKERS. Shaggy or long-haired bikers with motorcycle license; 4.) MALES & FEMALES (18+; any ethnicity) – MEN & WOMEN WITH CHARACTER FACESNOTE: Most scenes take place in 1969 and men and women must be willing to get a haircut and to work around smoke.[New Faces]ArchangelsAdam Cozad, who wrote the scripts for the upcoming The Gray Man and the latest Jack Ryan movie, is reportedly writing the script for Joseph Kosinski's upcoming science fiction thriller that isn't Tron 3 or Oblivion. This particular movie "was originally written as a spec script by newcomer Andrew Will and deals with a military group assigned to hunt down alien life forms hiding out on Earth." Ridley and Tony Scott are signed on as producers. [Variety via ComingSoon.net]Bond 23Michael Sheen has categorically denied the rumors that he's up for the part of supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld. However, there's an amusing video at the link where he offers some sense of what his performance would be like. [/Film]Piranha 3DDBecause there were so many unanswered questions and lingering thematic implications in Piranha 3D - or because it made a not terrible amount of money, I'm not sure - Dimension Films is officially going ahead with the sequel. John Gulager is directing, and the cast reportedly includes Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Meagan Tandy, Paul James Jordan, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Hector Jimenez, Adrian Martinez and, of course, Clu Gulager have joined the cast. Here's the current synopsis:AdvertisementAdvertisementThere's something in the water...again. And this time no one is safe from the flesh eating fish as they sink their razor sharp teeth into the visitors of the best summer attraction, The Big Wet Water Park.[ShockTillYouDrop]Troll HunterHere's a pair of trailers for the upcoming monster mockumentary, both in English and in its native Norwegian. Doctor WhoBBC America has released a new trailer for "Day of the Moon", featuring some key new footage. And here's a radio ad for "Day of the Moon" - it's got some new dialogue, although obviously these particular images are just from the previous trailers. The BBC has also put out a couple new promo photos. [Blogtor Who]AdvertisementThe fifth part of BBC America's Doctor Who Insider was made during the filming of Toby Whithouse's "The God Complex." It shows a couple very quick scenes and offers a look at some of the sets, as well as a fleeting glimpse at guest star David Walliams as the mole-like alien Gibbis. It also offers a quick look at the Headless Monks of Demon's Run, who appear in "A Good Man Goes to War." [Doctor Who Spoilers] These set photos from the finales appear to confirm that Romans will indeed be putting in an appearance. The setting certainly seems to be modern Earth, so it seems we're looking at some sort of alternate timeline or temporal corruption rather than a rumored appearance by the New Roman Empire. [Doctor Who Spoilers]Now that we know what the Silents wipe the memory of anyone who sees them, people have started looking through series five episodes for possible appearances. The most convincing theory thus far is that a Silent was in the TARDIS with Amy in "The Lodger." The evidence is a pair of moments where Amy seems to see something in the TARDIS and react, which is then otherwise ignored in the episode. If you have a copy of "The Lodger" handy - and why wouldn't you? - you can judge for yourself. The moments in question are at the 13:45 and 21:45 marks. Personally, I think there's a decent chance this is actually true, considering Steven Moffat has pulled this sort of long-term trickery before (consider the apparent continuity error in "Flesh and Stone" that turned out to be a future Doctor), "The Lodger" featured the same strange time machine we just saw in "The Impossible Astronaut", and the BBC America trailer up above seems to actually show a Silent inside the TARDIS. [TV Overmind]AdvertisementAs for crazy theories I don't believe, a couple people have claimed there's a scene in episode 7, "A Good Man Goes to War", in which River Song encounters Suranne Jones's Idris - the titular character from Neil Gaiman's "The Doctor's Wife" - and calls her "mother." That just seems wrong on a number of levels, although there is some speculation that this is one of a few fake endings that Steven Moffat had filmed for the mid-series finale, just to throw people off the scent. [Doctor Who Spoilers]FringeExecutive producer Joel Wyman has responded to a bunch of tweets, revealing a few small spoilers for the rest of the season:Advertisement* Olivia and Faulivia will have another confrontation before the end of the season. * Olivia's tattoo has no secret meaning. * Olivia won't react to the fact that Peter is the killer of shapeshifters...this season. * There are no plans to bring Mark Valley back as John Scott.[SpoilerTV]Game of ThronesHere's a promo for episode 3, "Lord Snow." SupernaturalHere's a preview and sneak peek for "Mommy Dearest." Smallville Here's a wedding-themed promo photos from the series finale. [TV Guide]Secret CircleSeries co-creator Kevin Williamson confirms that his latest teen-centric supernatural CW show won't be connected to his other teen-centric supernatural CW show, The Vampire Diaries:AdvertisementAdvertisement"My goal is for Julie [Plec] and I to stay focused on The Vampire Diaries, and Andrew Miller and his team will be in place and we will help and guide him along the way [on The Secret Circle]. I'm not going to step away from my vampires. I'm too invested at this point; it's too much of a family for me to walk away from, but there's room in our day for me to help guide The Secret Circle along the way...The witches in The Vampire Diaries are not in the same universe. We're not connecting them; there are no crossovers. There are no vampires and werewolves in the witch world in Secret Circle."[The Hollywood Reporter]Additional reporting by Gordon Jackson and Charlie Jane Anders.
