Yves Saint-Laurent was more than just a groundbreaking fashion designer — he was a robot visionary whose weird, angular designs and bold colors will be copied by the artificial intelligences of the distant future, a new retrospective shows.

Saint-Laurent's inspirations include painters like Mondrian and 1940s dresses — but he also went pretty wacky with the geometric shapes coming out of people's heads. Plus the totally insane "doves of peace" dress, which was like Lady Gaga before there was a Lady Gaga. [Associated Press]
