New stills from Denzel Washington's post-apocalyptic Book Of Eli show a barren wasteland of sand and sunglasses huts. But more interesting than all the designer-shade-sporting extras is the fact that Denzel, the bearer of "the great book" plots his course based on his iPod's battery power.

According to USA Today, the Washington's character decides to stop into Gary Oldman's town (the source of all his troubles) because (from one of the directors Allen Hughes):

"Eli's iPod has run out of juice and to the right is the road that leads into Carnagie's (Oldman) town. Eli makes the decision to go in to town, power up his iPod and refill his canteen."

The hell? It's good to see that in a future where water is scarce, we still have our priorities straight. I mean, can you even walk in a straight line without the proper music playlist these days? Why would we assume our future selves would be any different? Apart from the fact that it looks like everyone died. But you know, a little Journey fixes everything.
